Company

KYP Alliance Ltd. is a rather young company by the year of its foundation, but in fact has behind it many years of experience and design in high-tech.
After the USSR collapsed, during several years there was no call for highly qualified specialists. At that time, part of them were gathered up, and in 1992 a science-based plant was created in the territory of Belarus. They began with developing fire preventive and security systems.
In order to increase the systems reliability and competitive strength, the scientific base had to be developed and the already existing achievements of the former USSR were to be made use of. In particular, "Shopot" technology was designed on the basis of the "noise-shaped signal" that had previously been used for military purposes to maintain communication between Soviet submarines. When listening to the line, the enemy could only hear the noise and there was even nothing to decode, because the data communication itself went under the noise.
Using this development, there has been created a PLC technology for data communication via 0,4 kV power network. In comparison to the present world analogues, "Shopot" technology has the most resistance to stationary harmonic interference, pulse interference, to non-linearities of AFC and PFC and thus, is capable of operating in power networks of low quality. At first, this possibility was applied for creating a duplicating channel of signal transmission in fire preventive and security systems. Further, the possibilities were extended, and there have been designed communicators capable of creating a transparent (for any protocol) communication channel via 0.4kV. This device has both its external implementation (SM-16, SM-16-BP), to which up to 16 appliances of various purpose can be connected, and the built-in variant of SM-16 distinguished by its compactedness, but having the same characteristics as the external modem.
This equipment began to be widely applied in fire and burglar alarm systems, automatic process control systems, and especially in AMR (automated meter reading), AMM (automated meter management), MDM (meter data management) systems and AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) projects.
To date, we have available a complete set of AMR system for residential customers, produced under our design. These are: meters (single-phase and three-phase); Data Concentrator ("USPD-1500") for transformer substations having large number of small-scale consumers, and of course, the software ("Power-Balance").
Beside that, having studied the strengths and weaknesses of alternative communication services (GSM, CDMA, Bluetooth...), we have taken them into consideration and designed radio modems SMR-16 based on the same "Shopot" technology. These modems provide high interference resistance, large communication distance, and low power consumption. In addition, as against, for example, GSM or CDMA, radio communication need not to be paid for, since a free allowed channel is used (on customer's request, the frequency may be changed).
In this way, we have created a reliable system of data collecting and accounting, as well as of managing various types metering devices (electricity, water, gas, heat...). We also have a possibility to join our system to any kind of already existing billing system, as well as to disconnect the consumer completely or limit the consumption in case of non-payment, etc.
At present we cooperate as with energy distributors, so with relevant equipment manufacturers. For both of them, we are not a competitor, but the partner, as we can supply not only the whole system turn-key, but also the data communication channel (PLC and radio). The channel is transparent, what allows to use the equipment (protocols) of any manufacturers.
